Specialized Mental Health Services

Victims of child abuse need mental health services that are provided by professionals with pediatric experience and child abuse expertise.  Without effective therapeutic intervention, many traumatized children will suffer ongoing or long-term adverse social, emotional and developmental outcomes that may affect them throughout their lives.  In addition, family members can be the key to a child's recovery and ongoing protection.  Their mental health can be a critical factor in their ability to support the child.  For all these reasons and more, children's advocacy centers provide specialized, trauma-focused mental health services, designed to meet the unique needs of the children and of their non-offending family members.
