Avid runner and Baltimore Child Abuse Center supporter Thomas Neuberger and his running partner Juda McGannon are running across the Rocky Mountains this August in the 2010 TransRockies Run. The TransRockies Run is a total of 113 miles with Thomas and Juda running about one full marathon per day. Thomas hopes to raise $100 per mile to bring over $10,000 of support to the local not for profit Baltimore Child Abuse Center (BCAC).
“It’s going to be grueling, but the sense of accomplishment will be proportional to the effort,” says Thomas Neuberger, half of this dynamic team. Mr. Neuberger saw this challenging run fit with BCAC’s challenging mission to respond and help all children who have reported sexual abuse in the city of Baltimore. BCAC helped a shocking record 107 children in the month of June alone.
A kick-off celebration will take place on Thursday, July 29, 2010 at MAC Harbor East 1000 Lancaster Street at 6:00pm to honor Thomas and Juda in their efforts in raising awareness for child sexual abuse with all proceeds going to Baltimore Child Abuse Center.
The Baltimore Child Abuse Center is an accredited Children's Advocacy Center of National Children's Alliance.
