Director, Child Advocacy Center

The Director leads the Child Advocacy Center in providing comprehensive services to child victims of abuse and their non-offending caregivers in conjunction with multi-disciplinary team made up of law enforcement, Forensic Interviewers, administration and agency partners. In addition to forensic evaluations, the Director oversees mental health services that are provided to victims and their families (when indicated). This position is responsible for implementing the mission of Childhelp’s commitment to end child abuse and neglect through day-to-day management and oversight of the center staff, policy implementation, program development, funding development, agency partnership and promotion, interagency collaboration, and financial planning and oversight of the operating budget. This position routinely interfaces with the Department of Children and Family Services, law enforcement personnel and community stakeholders.  

Essential Responsibilities:

• Ensures the center meets it organizational goals and plans appropriately for the future
• Ensures compliance with program guidelines, protocols, rules, regulations, standards and statues
• Monitors and evaluates programs to determine effectiveness against goals and objectives
• Monitors informational, referral and support services provided to victims
• Formulates and maintains effective client, professional and social services relationships
• Establishes and cultivates relationships with community leaders, social service organizations, businesses, schools and hospital personnel, and city governmental agencies
• Manages all contracts for services and oversees financial success through managing EMR and billing schedules
• Leads recruiting, hiring, training and development of center leadership
• Provides direction and guidance to leadership across service lines to ensure collaboration
• Directs financial operations ensuring center financial policies are followed
• Prepares annual budget and capital budget to be reviewed by headquarters
• Ensures compliance with contractual agreements with funding sources
• Provides oversight and input in the preparation of monthly financial statements and Board reports
• Involvement in fund raising, presentations to donors, and capital campaigns to raise funds for the agency and mental health services.

Minimum Requirements:

• Master’s degree in the field of management/administration, social work, law enforcement, or related fields. Licensed as a Clinical Social Worker preferred.
• 5 – 7 years’ experience in non-profit management and related work with Child Protective Services or child abuse
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in management and supervision
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of issues and dynamics within families in crisis relating to physical and sexual child abuse
• Thorough knowledge of agency administration, organization structure and multidisciplinary team management
• Analytical skills to develop budgets, and prepare and interpret statistical data
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop and deliver presentations to potential donors, boards of directors, and a variety of stakeholders
• Demonstrated ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and also participate effectively as part of a team
• Ability to work in a confidential manner, ensuring information is shared with internal and external individuals in an appropriate manner 
• Strong financial and business acumen
