Executive Director

The Executive Director oversees the daily operation of the CAC, including all aspects of service provision, financial management, human resources, marketing, fundraising and development, and compliance. The Executive Director advocates for the CAC’s mission, representing the program in the community at large while providing direct supervision for RTCAC staff and volunteers as well as support and oversight for the Multi-Disciplinary Investigative Teams in Randolph and Tucker Counties. Ensures that the CAC and MDIT uphold the principles of the CAC model, aligning policy and practice with the 10 Standards for Accreditation with the National’s Children Alliance.The Executive Director position is full-time, reporting to the Board of Directors. Office hours are Monday-Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm with evening and weekend hours as needed for meetings, special events, or emergency cases.   • Working with the Board of Directors to devise and implement the organization’s strategic planning and monitor adherence to the organization’s mission
  • Working with the Board of Directors to create, implement, and evaluate policies and procedures
  • Coordinating the program’s financial and budgetary activities
  • Presenting the program’s mission to potential supporters and, together with the Board of Directors, leading fundraising and stewardship activities
  • Managing all aspects of staff supervision, including recruitment, hiring, mentorship, assigning responsibilities, evaluation, retention, and termination
  • Maintaining strong working relationships with the Board of Directors, partner agencies, public officials, and current and prospective funders
  • Cultivating connections with legislators and other officials to seek support for funding appropriations as well as the development and implementation of public policy to enhance and protect the Children’s Advocacy Center model and to advocate of behalf of children in West Virginia
  • Maintaining an active presence in statewide coalitions, especially the West Virginia Child Advocacy Network
  • Providing community education about the purpose of an MDIT response, the process of investigation and prosecution in the criminal and civil court systems, child abuse prevention, mandated reporting, and related topics
  • Completing all accounting and reporting as required by each funding source, including state, federal, and private grantors
  • Ensuring accuracy and timely submission of all statistical data
  • Providing direct services to client families when needed
  • Providing court testimony in criminal and abuse and neglect proceedings when needed
  • Staying abreast of current research and best practices in forensic interviewing, child maltreatment, and related fields
  • Attending training, conferences, and meetings as a member of the RTCAC team
  • Serving as the chair of the RTCAC Advisory Board
  • Contributing to a dynamic, positive, forward-thinking, and collaborative work environment

Qualifications…

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field required; Master’s degree preferred
  • Social work license or license-eligible candidate preferred
  • Two years of experience working in a related field; administrative or management experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with grant writing and reporting, budgeting, accounting, and fiscal management
  • Experience with non-profit and volunteer Board of Directors
  • Strong interpersonal and engagement skills, listening and communication skills, and crisis management skills
  • Supervisory experience, with the ability to mentor and motivate staff and team members
  • Ability to work with diverse people and agencies with a willingness to appreciate different points of view and problem solve in a constructive manner
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office programs (including Word, Excel, Publisher, and Power Point) and QuickBooks accounting software
  • Dependable transportation with car insurance and the willingness to travel
