Position Specification – Chief Executive Officer (CEO)/President
THE ORGANIZATION – CHILD ABUSE NETWORK, INC.
This private non-profit organization operates a community–based child abuse intervention program centered on the child. It is a charter member of the National Children’s Alliance, was incorporated in 1988, and is the first program of its kind in Oklahoma. It is an independent, non-profit corporation funded by community donations and grants (federal, state and city) and was established by public and private community service agencies specifically to address 1) “system” re-traumatization of child abuse victims and 2) provide a multidisciplinary team approach to address the needs of child abuse victims.
The program’s approach facilitates communication among the multidisciplinary team of agencies that investigate and prosecute child abuse. It provides a safe, child-friendly facility known as the Children’s Advocacy Center, which is designed for abused children and the agencies involved in child abuse investigations. The Child Abuse Network (CAN) was developed as a partnership among several organizations and today operates as a team member with the following entities:
The services it facilitates and provides include forensic interviews, medical evaluations, mental health support, and case review. The CAN current annual operating budget is $1.6 million which will need to grow over the next several years to accommodate planned expansion of operations.
THE POSITION
Key Resonsibilities/Essential Functions
1. Planning/Strategy Development – Guide and participate in the development and implementation of strategic and short-term plans and initiatives to guide the organization.
2. Program Delivery – Provide oversight and direction to program delivery, including the planning and design of programs and services to meet identified needs.
3. Organizational Development – Lead and participate in the staffing and development of the organization, recruit and hire key personnel, and provide training and mentoring to the staff.
4. Board Relations – Provide support, direction and assistance to the Board of Directors and serve in an advisory capacity at Board and committee meetings.
5. Fund Raising/Development – Plan, lead and participate actively in fundraising activities and initiatives, including those associated with capital campaigns.
6. Community Relations – Provide leadership in educating and working with the community regarding the vision, objectives and work of CAN and serve as the face of the organization and its primary spokesperson.
7. Financial Management – Manage and participate in financial planning and budgeting, direct the preparation and administration of the annual budget, and oversee the allocation and management of funds.
8. Accreditation – Manage the accreditation process and ensure the agency’s standards and performance remain consistent with accreditation requirements.
Candidate Qualifications/Profile
1 Education – Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration, Social Science, or a related discipline
2 Experience – At least 12 years of related experience leading up to and including organizational leadership, preferably to include related experience in the non-profit sector

The starting compensation will include attractive base salary and employee benefits – plus the opportunity for incentive compensation.
