SANE Medical Program Manager

Position:          SANE Project Manager (non exempt fulltime) Responsibilities: Oversee the daily operations of the SANE Unit, to include but not limited to financial activities, grant and contract reporting, public relations, facilitating the advertising, recruitment, training and coordination of SANE nurses. In addition, ensuring exam rooms are stocked and clean, chain of custody be followed and all other matters related to a smooth and professional project be implemented. Reports to:       Executive Director Education Requirements: At minimum, a Bachelor Degree in a related field and 2 years management experience. Experience in the operation of a SANE unit can take the place of a Degree. Skills and Knowledge:            

  • Demonstrate skills and knowledge of sexual assault services, locally, statewide and nationally.
  • Demonstrates ability to provide public speaking, communication and marketing of SANE and La Piñon services
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a client driven environment
  • Ability to work with nurses in a team approach service delivery system
  • Bi-Lingual and multi cultural in Spanish is preferred
  • Medical background preferred

Job Related Duties:

  • Front line point of contact
  • Ensure 24/7 coverage for SANE Project
  • Ensure SANE Manager availability 24/7
  • Maintain and ensure proper record keeping and manage release of all patient records and evidence ensuring chain of custody
  • Maintain supply of blank charts
  • Ensure the monthly nurse sign up schedule is developed and distributed
  • Ensure recruitment, facilitate training for new nurses
  • Ensure billing is accurate and submitted to Office Manager on time and complete
  • Maintain monthly statistics
  • Submit all grant reports on time
  • Act as liaison for SANE program with MMC, MV, MDT and medical community and community at large
  • Ensure all nurse documentation is in personnel file
  • Ensure equipment maintenance and appropriate training of employees on all equipment
  • Ensure proper chart storage
  • Convene monthly nurses meetings
  • Represent SANE at State wide meetings
  • Ensure follow–up care for clients
  • Ensure nurses receive their subpoenas in a timely manner
  • Develop and implement a marketing plan to promote the SANE program in the medical community, community at large, NMSU campus
  • Other Duties, as Assigned
