Connecting challenging caregivers with better mental health outcomes
July 22, 2025
Caregivers play a crucial role in their child’s recovery, however, some of them struggle with helping their child. What barriers do you find when working with challenging caregivers? Learn how to break bread with caregivers at Seamless 2025, the premier virtual conference for mental health professionals serving child victims of abuse, coming September 17-18, 2025.
Our fourth annual Seamless lineup includes Working with Challenging Caregivers: Effective Strategies for Resistant, Unengaged and Non-Believing Caregivers with Andrew Wolff. Andrew serves as Program Development and Research Clinical Manager at Granite State Children’s Alliance Behavioral Health Services.
Supporting caregivers in their ability to engage in the necessary services following the forensic interview is difficult work. It’s even more difficult when the caregivers are resistant, unengaged and/or non-believing. This workshop will focus on describing research highlighting caregiver responses to disclosure and applying trauma-informed care and psychologically-based theories of change to our interactions with challenging caregivers. Strategies gleamed from the workshop intend to increase our individual abilities to build rapport, engagement, and ensure a child’s ongoing healing after the forensic interview.
This is just one of the nine great sessions where National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC) and National Association of Social Workers (NASW) members can earn 10 CEs in our two-day online course.
See the agenda and register now; discounted registration is available for NCA member CACs and any affiliated clinicians who serve their clients.
