National Children’s Alliance to Host 2014 Leadership Conference June 1 – 4 in Washington, D.C.

National Children’s Alliance will host their 2014 Hope, Healing & Heroes Leadership Conference at the Renaissance Downtown Hotel in Washington, D.C. from Sunday, June 1 through Wednesday, June 4, 2014.
Designed specifically for leaders in the Children’s Advocacy Center field, the 2014 Leadership Conference will provide education, networking and advocacy opportunities for directors, administrators, coordinators and board members of Children’s Advocacy Centers, CAC Chapters, multidisciplinary teams, and other child abuse and child welfare professionals.
Over the course of four days, nationally recognized professionals, trainers and peer presenters will lead conference sessions. In addition, motivational speaker Karen Vadino will offer the keynote presentation and filmmaker Libby Spears will screen her film, “Playground: The Child Sex Trade in America.” A special track on responding to commercially sexually exploited children will be held, as well.
On Sunday, June 1, National Children’s Alliance will present the 2014 Leadership Awards, recognizing outstanding individuals and groups that have demonstrated a commitment and dedication to children and their families through the promotion of the Children’s Advocacy Center model and mission.
As stated by Teresa Huizar, Executive Director of National Children’s Alliance, “Our Leadership Conference is an important time each year when professionals from the children’s advocacy center field can come together and learn from one another while celebrating successes.
