Missouri KidsFirstJob Description: Development Manager Summary: The Missouri KidsFirst Development Manager is responsible for managing the fundraising and communications of Missouri KidsFirst and assisting in marketing.Job Duties1. Serve as primary resource to the agency for development activities.2. Lead the creation and implementation of the development plan for the agency and monitor progress towards accomplishment of the plan.3. Implement programs of individual giving including board contributions, work place programs, third party fundraisers, individual solicitations, and event fundraising.4. Maintain an active process of identifying, nurturing, and soliciting corporate and foundation gifts and awards.5. Oversee the process for recognizing and thanking donors.6. Manage the donor database for tracking donor and volunteer participation, stewardship, and identification and nurturing of prospects.7. Identify and assist with the development of grant proposals. Work collaboratively with staff to assure written grants meet funders’ criteria and grant application processes.8. In collaboration with program staff, monitor grant budgets, prepare grant invoices and oversee required narrative reports.9. Articulate the mission and work of Missouri KidsFirst through public speaking.10. Develop and implement marketing and statewide social media strategies11. Lead efforts to create written materials such as brochures, annual report, and other written materials in support of our mission, fundraising and outreach efforts.12. Maintain the Missouri KidsFirst presence on social media such as Facebook and Twitter.13. Assist in supporting and providing technical assistance to member Child Advocacy Centers.14. Provide training and technical assistance to professionals on areas of expertise.15. Remain current on fundraising best practices, marketing and public relations, special events management, volunteer recruitment and retention, and grants management procedures being utilized in the not-for-profit sector.16. Remain abreast of issues related to child abuse and neglect. Qualifications1. Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing, communications, public administration or related field.2. Experience in non-profit fundraising with demonstrated success in developing resource diversity.3. Excellent working knowledge of development techniques including, but not limited to, grant writing, annual giving, corporate and foundation solicitations, and special events.4. Must have a working knowledge of budgeting.5. Good understanding of Central Missouri community resources and services. 6. Excellent oral and written communication skills.7. Engaging, energetic with strong organizational skills, consistent follow through and self-motivation. 8. Knowledge and experience working with social media (Facebook, Constant Contact, Twitter etc.) for business purposes.   9. Candidates must be detailed oriented, demonstrate exceptional communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work productively with Executive Director, staff, volunteers and donors. 10. Selected candidate will to operate in a MAC environment, with knowledge of MS Office programs, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. 11. Must have a valid driver’s license and consent to a criminal background check.12. In-state travel will be required with travel expenses reimbursed by the agency.Compensation: The Development Manager is a full-time exempt position and funded by unrestricted dollars.
