FAQ: Guardify Acquires NCAtrak
Guardify has acquired NCAtrak. Here are some frequent questions we expect from users and NCA members.
- Why is NCA selling NCAtrak to Guardify?
- Technology innovation has great promise for improvements to case management and digital evidence collection and storage. Guardify, as a highly specialized technology company, has both the technical expertise and knowledge of CACs to bring these advancements to the market in ways that NCA cannot.
- Is NCA selling my data to Guardify?
- NCA does not own your data. Guardify does not own your data. You own your own data, and no one else. NCA is selling the NCAtrak platform (that your data resides in) to Guardify. Your data is still yours and under your control at all times.
- Does this sale change my subscription renewal date?
- Your annual subscription renewal date stays the same unless you request for Guardify to change it. If your renewal month is prior to February 2026, you have already received an invoice from NCA, which you should pay per usual. If your renewal month is February 2026 or later you will renew in your usual month. Guardify will invoice you for renewal and you will pay Guardify directly.
- Does this change the price of NCAtrak renewal?
- Every year your annual subscription increases by a flat 3% for the next 3 years post-sale, just as it would have under NCA. If you want to add additional Guardify products or features those will come at additional cost. But for current NCAtrak subscribers, the existing NCAtrak features will remain on the same price schedule as had NCA continued to own it.
- Will NCAtrak continue in its current format in the future?
- Yes, for the foreseeable future, existing functionality will continue as you currently experience it.
- Will NCAtrak/Guardify’s case management systems continue to qualify for NCA subaward grants as allowable expenses?
- For any grant category for which case management systems (CMS) and/or digital evidence management systems (DEMS) are allowable systems, NCAtrak/Guardify CMS/DEMS will be considered allowable expenses, as with other such vendors.
- How will I access the tools, resources, and training materials that I use for NCAtrak?
- These will be transitioned to Guardify. In the meantime, access this per usual as we have granted a license to Guardify to continue to make them available to you. You will be notified by Guardify when they are physically moved and a redirect notice will appear on NCAtrak’s website and the NCAtrak content on NCA Engage. In the immediate term, though, continue to find them where they have always been.
- How will I access customer support?
- Backstopped now by a much larger team, Rhonda will continue to respond to your questions. Please continue to reach out as you always have through the existing ticketing system. Once the transition is complete you will be redirected to Guardify’s ticketing system.
- How will I access online training during the transition?
- Until all training resources are successfully copied and uploaded into Guardify’s system, you will continue to access these materials on NCA Engage on the NCAtrak page. You will be notified when they move. For now, continue to use them normally.
- I am a part of a research project that uses NCAtrak. What happens now?
- Part of the agreement between NCA and Guardify is to continue these research partnerships. You will continue to enter your data into NCAtrak—per the research project—as usual.
- If your project requires data entry into REDcap, NCA has retained access. We will be in contact with you for further steps.
- How will NCA Statistical Reporting work?
- You will continue to submit your annual NCA Statistical Report in NCAtrak per usual. Part of the agreement between NCA and Guardify is for this function to continue.
- How will NCA use the proceeds of the sale?
- Just as NCA heavily reinvested the subscription fees of NCAtrak subscribers back into the further development of NCAtrak, NCA will continue its investment in the CAC movement through the implementation of our Strategic Plan, including our top priority: strengthening CAC sustainability.
