Child Forensic Interview Specialist

Children’s Advocacy Programs of the Blue Ridge, Inc. is seeking an applicant to provide forensic interviewing services to children referred to the Southern VA Child Advocacy Center as a result of allegations of maltreatment and to work in partnership with regional multidisciplinary teams. Bachelor’s degree in a human service field, criminal justice or law with five years experience-Master’s preferred.  Experience with multi-disciplinary, community-based responses to allegations of child abuse and neglect a plus.  Certification of completion of a nationally accredited forensic interview curriculum must be obtained within 90 days of hiring. Responsibilities include coordinating and conducting forensic interviews of children and adolescents alleging child abuse; participating in pre/post interview multidisciplinary case staffing; and preparing written reports of interviews.  The Forensic Interviewer will participate on our local multidisciplinary team, administer grant-required tasks, and participate in peer review/supervision.  This individual may conduct clinical assessments and treatment as defined in the Clinician’s job description if the candidate dually meets the education, training, and experience required by the position.
